Scunthorpe could face a battle to keep hold of midfielder Michael O'Connor as Newcastle are being linked with a swoop.
The midfielder has been a revelation since arriving from Crewe in the summer and the Magpies are reported to be lining up a swoop before the transfer window closes.
The 22-year-old has been a regular in the Iron side this season and although boss Nigel Adkins will do all he can to keep hold, he may struggle if a big offer comes in.
Hull City and West Ham have also been linked.
