AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri is delighted the club have stood firm and retained the services of defender Thiago Silva.
President Silvio Berlusconi last week revealed Milan had rejected an "extraordinary" 46million euro bid from Paris Saint-Germain for the Brazilian and insisted the player would not be leaving San Siro. PSG are also targeting Alexandre Pato as part of their ambitious summer plans but the striker recently pledged his future to Milan. Allegri is excited by the prospect of keeping his squad together and wrestling the Serie A crown from Juventus' grasp next term. "It was a big decision and President Silvio Berlusconi gave a huge gift to the team and fans," Allegri told Sky Sport Italia. "The club decided not to dismantle the squad and will keep the foundations of the team intact. "We are really motivated to fight back, as we had the Scudetto in our grasp. Unfortunately, Juventus had an extraordinary campaign."
