Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon admits Antonio Conte's 10-month ban could hurt the squad.
The coach of the reigning Serie A champions was charged with failing to report alleged match-fixing involving Siena when he managed the club in Serie B two seasons ago.
Conte had a plea bargain deal rejected by the Italian federation earlier this month, a proposal which would have seen him serve a three-month suspension and pay a fine of €200,000.
Buffon has conceded Conte's absence could hurt Juventus' bid to defend their Serie A crown.
"When things like this happen, they can destabilise the environment. We Italians like to say it makes you stronger," said the veteran stopper. "Personally, I do not think that they can help an individual or a team."
