Cavani ready for Chelsea move

Napoli's Edinson Cavani looks set to join Premier League giants Chelsea for £35million, according to reports from the UK and Italy.

The striker, who has netted 66 times for Napoli in just 94 games, is reported to be seeking £150,000-per-week wages from the Stamford Bridge-based club. Napoli owner Aurelio de Laurentiis is reportedly happy to let his prize asset go. The Uruguay international has scored 11 goals in 40 caps for his country since he made his debut back in 2008. Cavani's move to Stamford Bridge would come at a welcome time for boss Roberto Di Matteo, who lost Didier Drogba at the end of last season and has recently seen forward Romelu Lukaku go out on loan to fellow Premier League side West Brom. The 25-year-old Cavani has been hotly tipped to leave Napoli for some time now, but previously the Naples club were not keen on losing their star attraction. It now appears that the owner is happy, if the price is right.
