Chiellini out of Coppa Italia final

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has ruled himself out of the Coppa Italia final against Napoli but hopes to be fit for Euro 2012.

The talented stopper picked up a problem with his right thigh in the closing stages of Sunday's 3-1 win over Atalanta in Serie A and will miss the showpiece clash with Napoli on Sunday, May 20. The European Championships follow at the start of June and Chiellini feels that, after scans on the problem, he will know more about the injury and will hopefully be fit to take his place in the Italy squad for Poland and Ukraine. "I'll have my first tests tomorrow to find out the extent of the injury," he wrote on Twitter. "I was a little worried at the start, but I felt calmer in the evening even if I unfortunately won't be able to play in the Cup Final. "However, I'm optimistic that I'll make the European Championship. We'll just have to wait a few more days to get a better understanding."
