Genoa have sacked Alberto Malesani for the second time this season with Gigi De Canio installed as the new coach of the Rossoblu.
Malesani began the season in charge at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris but was sacked after the club's 6-1 to Napoli in December last year. He was replaced by Pasquale Marino, who lasted only a few months before Malesani returned to the hot-seat. But his second tenure ended after only 20 days and president Enrico Preziosi revealed on Monday that the new boss was already in charge of first-team affairs. "De Canio is the new coach of Genoa," he said. "He'll take charge of his first training session this morning." Genoa are just one point and one place above the relegation zone with five games still to go.
