Nesta to leave Milan
Alessandro Nesta has confirmed that he will leave Milan at the end of the season with rumours that he could be set to move to America.
The 36-year-old will fall out of contract in the summer and has decided to end his 10-year stay at the San Siro.
The former Italy international was offered a contact extension back in February, but feels he is no longer valued at the club and announced at a press conference on Thursday that this will be his final season with the Italian giants.
"This has been my last season with Milan," he said. "I'm leaving. We're playing at high levels and if I no longer feel important then I'd prefer to stay at home.
"I took this decision when I was feeling in good shape. I've won a lot but out of respect for the club and myself, I would like to go and try a different experience where I will be able to do something good."
