Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has rebuffed reports linking the former England manager with a job at the club.

Reports on Thursday said Palermo team manager Christian Panucci was in talks with Capello over a potential move to Stadio Renzo Barbera, however these have today been rubbished by Zamparini who says the club do not have the prestige or finances to attract someone of his calibre. He said: "Capello? He has an understandable objective at his age - to get a contract in accordance with his fame and of course his value, which is something Palermo cannot perceive. "Perhaps Capello would come, but the salaries of coaches in Italy are much lower, at least five or six times compared to the salary he could get in China or Russia, where I believe he will go in the end." Former Roma and Inter manager Capello, 65, is currently searching for a job after resigning from the England national team in February.
