Espanyol manager Mauricio Pochettino says he has rejected the chance to take over as Sampdoria boss.
The Argentinian has been at the Spanish club for the last three and a half years but has been linked with positions elsewhere as he struggled to cope with the financial restrictions in place at the Barcelona-based club.
Sampdoria, who beat Varese 3-2 on aggregate in the Italian play-off final to seal their return to Serie A, have reportedly been weighing up whether to replace Beppe Iachini after just one season in charge.
However, Pochettino, who has a contract at Espanyol until 2015, will not be taking over and says he wants to stay in Spain.
He told Espanyol's official website: "I had offers but I will stay. I have rejected them, my heart lies here."
