Italy boss Cesare Prandelli was "satisfied" with Antonio Cassano's condition after visiting Milan's training ground on Thursday.

The Italy international striker missed five months of the season after undergoing minor heart surgery last October and it was always thought that he would struggle to play against this term. But the 29-year-old began training in January and has always been positive about getting back onto the San Siro pitch before the conclusion of the season and he has made an appearance in three of the Rossoneri's last four Serie A games. Whether or not he is up to the rigours of a European campaign with Italy this summer is open to debate, but Prandelli was impressed with what he saw. "I'm seeing that Antonio is playing more and more for the Rossoneri," he said. "This is important for a player like him. "He's in a good place psychologically. I was interested in coming here so I could see his motivation. I'm satisfied with today's contact."
