Lazio coach Edy Reja has backed the FIGC's decision to suspend football in Italy following the death of Piermario Morosini.
Morosini collapsed and died during the Serie B match between Pescara and Livorno on Saturday afternoon. The Italian Football Federation later announced all the remaining weekend's games would be postponed. "With what spirit would we have played? It was the right decision to stop the games," Reja said. The Lazio coach also defended heart screening programmes in the country. "The players are monitored every four or five months and have ECG stress tests. These things can happen and you can't argue with destiny," Reja added.
