Roma have offered €12million to Sao Paulo for defender Rhodolfo after releasing Gabriel Heinze, according to reports.
Former Manchester United defender Heinze is deemed to be surplus to requirements with the Giallorossi, who are creating a fresh defensive set-up ahead of the new season. Federico Balzaretti, Leandro Castan and Ivan Piris have already been brought in by new coach Zdenek Zeman, who hopes Rhodolfo can be added to the new acquisitions. The 26-year-old Brazilian has a buy-out clause of €15million in his contract. However, Roma are attempting to secure a €5million one-year loan deal with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season for an additonal €7million.
