Blades keeper in the clear

Sheffield United, 18:28, November 11, 2009 ,

Sheffield United have been lifted by the news that goalkeeper Ian Bennett didn't sustain a serious finger injury on Monday night.

The Blades shot stopper has undergone some preliminary scans which have suggested that there isn't a break in the area he injured during the 2-2 draw with Barnsley.
However, United boss Kevin Blackwell is still waiting to discover the extent of the injuries picked up by Matthew Kilgallon and Andrew Davies as the Yorkshire based club continue to suffer an injury crisis.
"Benno has had an x-ray and now we've got to see how they interpret it," Blackwell said.
"Davies is going to have an MRI scan which should tell us exactly what is wrong.
"Killa has not had anything done yet because the swelling around the ankle is too great.
"We've got to wait for that to go down before anyone takes a look.
"The normal procedure is that he'll have a scan within 48 hours of the incident."
