Race on for striker
Sheffield United, 13:08, May 25, 2010 ,
Sheffield United are bracing themselves for a bidding war for striker Billy Sharp with Doncaster, Burnley and Leeds all linked.
Doncaster have already had a bid of £600,000 turned down for the striker but they look likely to come back in with an improved offer and newly promoted Leeds are said to be monitoring the situation very closely as they look to add to their squad.
Burnley are also being linked with the striker should they receive an offer for Steven Fletcher that they find too hard to turn down.
Sharp, who cost the Blades £1.6m from Scunthorpe, confirmed: "I've not heard anything from Leeds. I've just got back from my holiday but I heard Donny's offer was turned down. I'll speak to Sheffield United and we'll take it from there."
