Goals underline duo's readiness

Sheffield Wednesday, 19:00, August 5, 2009 ,

Owls duo Tommy Miller and Richard Hinds have proved their fitness in time for Saturday's home opener against Barnsley.

Miller has been struggling during pre-season with a thigh strain which he picked up shortly after joining once his contract at Ipswich expired.
But the ex-Hartlepool star made his first Owls appearance in Tuesday's behind-closed-doors friendly against Bradford City and scored.
Boss Brian Laws is likely to include Miller in the Owls squad for the derby clash against Barnsley at Hillsborough following his 75-minute appearance.
Defender Hinds, rested against Blackburn over the weekend, had been carrying a knock but he also got his name on the scoresheet in a 2-1 win.
Midfielder Darren Potter came through 45 minutes of the match after resting a thigh strain.
