Striker set for new chance

Sheffield Wednesday, 19:22, January 22, 2010

Leon Clarke hopes hos goal at Blackpool has earned him a chance to start for Wednesday against Peterborough on Saturday.

Jermaine Johnson is out with the hamstring injury which forced him out in midweek, giving Clarke another shot at showing new boss Alan Irvine what he can do from the start against struggling Posh at Hillsborough.

Clarke is expected to retain his place alongside Marcus Tudgay up front, despite the return of Luke Varney who comes straight back into the squad after returning on loan from Derby until the end of the season.

On-loan midfielder Tom Soares will play his last game before returning to Crystal Palace.
