Shrews handed Alex test

Shrewsbury have been drawn at home to Crewe in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern Section West second-round draw.

Both clubs booked their places in the hat having received welcome first-round byes in the competition. The tie is due to be played during the week commencing October 8.
