Defending champion out of Australian Open

Reigning champion Stuart Bingham is out of snooker's Australian Open after a shock 5-4 first-round defeat to Matthew Selt.

Bingham had won the event last season, the first ranking title of his career, after seeing off Mark Williams in the final but he endured a disappointing defence of the crown as he was narrowly beaten at the first hurdle
Elsewhere, World Championship finalist Ali Carter is also out after a 5-3 defeat in the first round to China's Cao Yupeng but Shaun Murphy, Peter Ebdon and Mark Davis did all manage victories.
