New snooker chief Barry Hearn has said he hopes to bring an "innovative and creative" approach to the sport.

The owner of Leyton Orient football club was on Wednesday confirmed as the new chairman of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association and hailed his arrival as "the beginning of a new era".
Six-time world champion Steve Davis was also co-opted onto the WPBSA board after former chairman Sir Rodney Walker was voted out on December 2.
Having transformed the fortunes of darts in recent years, Hearn admitted snooker needed an injection of new ideas.
"There'll be more formats," an excited Hearn revealed to BBC Sport. "I'll try to be innovative and creative. The patient is not dead - it just needs waking up."
