Maximum a highlight for Hendry

Snooker, 10:16, April 29, 2009 ,

Seven-time champion Stephen Hendry said he was "absolutely delighted" to register his second career maximum 147 at The Crucible.

The current world number six, a 50-1 outsider at the start of the World Championship, repeated his 1995 trick in a seventh-frame break against Shaun Murphy, but still trails 9-7 after the quarter-final second session.
The 40-year-old Scot has now had nine maximums in his career, including one other in Sheffield in the 1995 semi-finals against crowd favourite Jimmy White.
"It's a tremendous feeling and I'm absolutely delighted," said Hendry.
Ronnie O'Sullivan and Ali Carter both achieved the feat last year, while past greats such as Cliff Thorburn, Jimmy White and Mark Williams are the only other players to clinch perfect frames on the sport's biggest stage.
