Clyne misses out for England

Southampton full-back Nathaniel Clyne has had to withdraw from the England under-21 squad for the crucial double-header against Serbia.
Clyne has failed to recover from the dead leg which kept him out of Sunday's 2-2 draw with Fulham at St. Mary's and his place in Stuart Pearce's party has been taken by Liverpool defender Jack Robinson. Saints boss Nigel Adkins feared the former Crystal Palace man would miss out on the call-up after explaining his absence in the post-match press conference after the game with the Cottagers at the weekend, even though the injury isn't thought to be too severe. He said: "Nathaniel has a dead leg that he picked up at Everton and had to come off which he hasn't recovered from. I would suggest that as he hasn't played (on Sunday) he wont be fit to go away with England." England will play the first leg of the European Championship play-off at Norwich's Carrow Road on Friday with the return leg being staged in Krusevac four days later.
