Ramirez rubbishes transfer talk
Gaston Ramirez has distanced himself from talk he could move back to Italy this summer by reaffirming his commitment to Saints.
Despite a mixed first season at St Mary's following his record breaking move from Bologna, the Uruguayan midfielder has been linked with a big-money transfer back to Italy.
Fiorentina and Inter Milan are both thought to be interested in the 22-year-old and a fee of around €18million has been mentioned in recent reports.
However, Ramirez says he is happy to stay with Southampton for next season, despite admitting he is a fan of Fiorentina.
"There is a lot of talk about the transfer market but I think I'll stay at Southampton," Ramirez told tuttomercatoweb.com.
"I want to repay the trust of the club. I'm happy in England and I have always dreamed of playing in the Premier League.
"There has been talk in the past of interest from Fiorentina and they are a club that I like. But Southampton count on me a lot."
