Royals eye Saints targets

Southampton look set to fight it out with Reading for Watford defender Adrian Mariappa and Senegal international striker Dame N'Doye.

Saints boss Nigel Adkins secured the £7million signing of Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez on Sunday, but he is still desperate to bring more reinforcements into the St Maryu's squad to prepare for life in the Premier League.
And, 27-year-old FC Copenhagen striker, N'Doye, who has scored an impressive 59 goals in 104 games for the Danes is also thought to be on his wanted list.
However Brian McDermott, whose Reading side pipped the Saints to the Championship title last season, is also very keen on the player, along with Everton chief David Moyes.
Meanwhile, Adkins also faces a battle with the Royals to land Mariappa, who is available for a fee in the region of £2.75million.
