Saints starlet on manager's wishlist
Coventry City boss Mark Robins has hinted that he's interested in a loan deal for Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse.
The Sky Blues boss revealed last week that he is in the market for a young Premier League loan signing. Ward-Prowse, 18, has been linked with a move to the Ricoh Arena, despite Robins already having plenty of cover in central midfield. But, speaking before his club's Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash with Crewe Alexandra, Robins refused to be drawn on his chances of landing the England youth international. "He's a good young player but there's nothing doing," said Robins. "I'm not confirming it or denying it, I'm just focusing on tonight's game." Ward-Prowse has only played 13 times for Saints this season, although he did appear as a late substitute against Wigan at the weekend - his first league appearance since New Year's Day. Robins admitted that he needed to get people out to get fresh players in and the departure of Roy O'Donovan to Northampton has freed up a significant chunk of the wage bill.
