Southampton eye new manager
Southampton, 10:26, June 18, 2009 ,
Southampton could appoint Kevin Keegan as their new manager after the former Saints player met Matt Le Tissier to discuss the role.
The Pinnacle Consortium, headed by Le Tissier, has until Friday to finalise a takeover of the stricken south coast club and had previously been thought to be keen to bring in their own manager to replace Mark Wotte.
Following publication of pictures showing a meeting between Keegan, Le Tissier and former Saints chairman Leon Crouch speculation has increased that the former Southampton player could become the new manager.
However, if Pinnacle decide to keep Wotte as their first-team coach it is thought Keegan could take up the role of director of football at St Mary's as they bid to get out of League One at the first time of asking.
