Striker race hots up

Southampton, 17:01, June 17, 2009 ,

Crystal Palace have joined Plymouth in the race to sign Southampton striker Bradley Wright-Phillips this summer.

The Saints are in turmoil on the south coast and a move away for the striker could certainly be on the cards as his contract has run out at St Mary's and they look to be in no position to offer him a new one at this time.
That could change if a takeover goes through and Saints boss Mark Wotte has not given up all hope, but in the meantime interest is hotting up for the player's signature.
Plymouth are in the hunt and now Eagles boss Warnock has revealed that Wright-Phillips is a player he wants, saying: "Bradley is one we have spoken about. He is on our list."
