Cesc Fabregas has admitted that he was surprised to start up-front in Spain's 1-1 draw with Italy on Sunday.
The Barcelona man played well in the unfamiliar position, scoring his side's only goal, but says he was totally shocked when he was asked to lead the line ahead of the likes of Fernando Torres and Alvaro Negredo.
"I didn't expect it either, I was as surprised as anyone," he said. "I hadn't played for a month and a half, and with the goal, it was special. So I am happy."
