Veteran goalkeeper Steve Banks has signed a new one-year deal with Dundee United.

The former Blackpool and Bolton stopper will provide cover for new Polish keeper Radoslaw Cierzniak, while continuing to coach the club's goalkeepers.
The 40-year-old joined the Tangerines from Hearts in 2009 but has rarely featured in the first team. He admitted he is buoyed by the decision to keep him on the playing staff.
"Last season, I didn't get much game time but I know I can do a job if required and this contract shows that the club also believes in my ability, which is nice," Banks told the club's official website.
"If needed to play I am ready and signing this contract also allows me to continue coaching which I enjoy very much."
