Celtic have not lost interest in persuading Leon Best to leave Tyneside for assured Champions League football at Parkhead.

In the belief that it is always a good move to strengthen an already useful squad, manager Neil Lennon has reminded the Newcastle striker that he remains on the summer shopping list. A figure of around £2m was reportedly offered in January but was turned down.
However, with both Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse above him in the pecking order at the Sports Direct Arena, the big question is whether Best will now be tempted by the prospect of more regular first team football, and of course the chance to join a team that scored 79 goals in the league alone last season.
The player is not included in this Sunday's squad for Newcastle's trip to Everton due to a thigh strain, so will have the rest of the summer to make his mind up as the curtain comes down on the Premier League. With his current club not certain to finish high enough to qualify for the Champions League, and Celtic already there, Best has plenty to mull over.
