Aberdeen boss Craig Brown has confirmed that the club has offered a new contract to goalkeeper Jamie Langfield.
The stopper made his first appearance of the season in Saturday's 2-0 win at Inverness and looked calm and composed, following 11 months out of the team after suffering a brain seizure. Langfield previously spent time on-loan at Forfar as part of his recovery and Brown says the 32-year-old has shown both him and his staff enough to convince them to hand him a new deal at Pittodrie. "Jamie has been offered a new deal and a good contract," Brown said. "He loves Aberdeen Football Club and I think his concern was that he was not going to be in contention for the number one goalkeeping spot but he played exceptionally well so he is right in contention for being number one."
