McCoist - Division drop could happen
Scottish Premier League,
Rangers manager Ally McCoist has admitted a drop to Scotland's fourth tier of football is an option, albeit an extreme one.
Rangers were left astonished on Monday evening when the Scottish Football Association fined the administration-stricken club £160,000 and limited them to signing Under-18s for a year.
McCoist now says that a divisional drop may be the best option for the club, but admits it is a measure that will not be taken lightly.
He told RangersTV: "Some fans have been suggesting this and I am leaning towards it myself.
"Make no mistake about it, it would be an unbelievably drastic measure and it will have an incredible impact on Scottish football - and not for the good.
"But if they are going to continue to impose sanctions on us and make things extremely difficult for us to defend ourselves then maybe, just maybe, it might be the right thing."
