Ex-Saints ace handed Mariners trial

Striker Graham Barrett has been handed a trial by Grimsby Town after his release from St Johnstone last week.
The English League Two side's manager Mike Newell is desperate for a new forward and will give Barrett an opportunity to impress at Blundell Park until next Monday. The Republic of Ireland forward, who has had spells with Coventry and Falkirk, joins Chris Jones and Andy Smith in trying to earn a contract with the Mariners.
