St Johnstone boss Derek McInnes paid tribute to his players but was surprised they managed a 4-1 win over Rangers on Wednesday.
Saints claimed the fantastic win in the rearranged SPL game as goals from Cillian Sheridan, Chris Millar, Liam Craig and Murray Davidson saw off the champions in convincing style. McInnes was delighted with the way his side responded to the defeat against Hamilton but admitted the margin of the victory came as a surprise to him. He said: "You've got to enjoy nights like this. We had a poor defeat to Hamilton at the weekend and we always seem to respond to a poor result. "But to do so so convincingly, I wouldn't have thought we would have won by that scoreline. "We had a lot of top performances and it would be wrong to single anyone out. We played with a lot of intelligence and the players deserve all the credit in the world."
