Duo in fitness battle

St Mirren, 15:36, December 10, 2008 ,

St Mirren are sweating on the fitness of strikers Craig Dargo and Billy Mehmet ahead of Saturday's game against Inverness.

Both players missed the weekend win over Falkirk, with Mehmet suffering a toe injury last week while Dargo has been struggling with a hamstring problem.
Buddies boss Gus MacPherson said: "Billy had to have a toenail removed. It was a painful injury but he might train and hopefully it will have cleared up by the weekend.
"Craig had a hamstring strain and tried to train on Friday but he didn't feel comfortable, so we decided to take no chances with him.
"If he'd played and torn it he could have been out for six to eight weeks. But I'm hopeful he will be back by the weekend."
