Ross slams players for St Mirren position

St Mirren, 15:13, December 4, 2008 ,

St Mirren defender Jack Ross has slammed the clubs players for allowing the side to slip to the bottom of the SPL.

Ross insists that it is the players who should take the blame for Saints' dismal current form, rather than the backroom staff and management.
St Mirren haven't won for seven games now and are the lowest scoring side in the league, with Ross admitting that there are problems at both ends of the pitch.
"For the past six or seven weeks we have been talking about creating chances and not sticking them away. But the defence are not doing their job either and we conceded two goals against United and didn't score. That is a bad combination and that is why we are at the bottom of The SPL," said Ross.
"The management team of Gus [MacPherson] and Andy Millen are targeted for criticism for performances on the park but that is garbage because it is the players who go on the park and it is up to us to get results.
"I would like to think every single player in the St Mirren dressing room does not want to play in the First Division either and if they don't they will need to have a long hard look at themselves."
