Saints star back in business

St Mirren, 16:12, December 12, 2008 ,

Tom Brighton is back to full fitness and says he is ready to make an impact at St Mirren after enduring a long spell on the sidelines.

The summer signing from Millwall has missed most of this season with a knee ligament injury, but appeared as a substitute for the first team last weekend and featured in the reserves' clash with Rangers this week.
Now the former Clyde striker is ready to stake a claim for a regular first-team place in Gus MacPherson's side, as he tries to help fire the Buddies away from the relegation zone.
The 24-year-old told the Daily Record: "Fingers crossed I won't be in the physio's room for the rest of the season.
"In the last four of five weeks we've had a few players out injured and the manager's had to change the team so if I'd stayed fit I'd have got my chance.
"Hopefully it will still come along. I'm feeling good now and want to show the supporters what I can offer."
