Stevenage boss Gary Smith has not given up hope of making the play-offs.
Boro dropped more points against Preston on Monday, with a last-gasp header from captain Mark Roberts rescuing a 1-1 draw. Smith's side have won only once in the last 13 League One outings, drawing nine times. The gap between ninth-placed Stevenage and sixth-placed Carlisle is six points with five fixtures remaining. "A win on Monday was imperative for us really, but we won't give up the ghost," said Smith. "We've still got the sides immediately above us - Brentford and Carlisle - coming here so we can affect their form and their points tallies so we'll keep fighting on. "Our performances at home recently have been much, much better and we look like we will really push on at some point and really take someone to the cleaners."
