Abdou in Euro hunt

Stoke City, 13:22, November 5, 2009

Stoke City captain Abdoulaye Faye believes the Potters can qualify for European football this season.

The towering Senegalese defender was a key man in 2006/07 as he helped Bolton Wanderers secure a place in the UEFA Cup and Faye feels his current employers can fight for a spot in Europe.

"It is possible, but we need to improve every game and work very hard," Faye told BBC Radio Stoke. "Our main objective is to stay in the Premier League. After that, we can start looking higher up the table."

Stoke currently sit ninth in the Premier League table with 16 points from their opening 11 fixtures, they trail fifth placed Tottenham Hotspur by three points.
