Baggies still eyeing Beatt bid
Stoke City, 18:16, July 28, 2010 ,
West Brom are ready to launch a fresh bid to sign James Beattie from Stoke, who could be allowed to leave in a £1.5million deal.
Beattie and Potters boss Tony Pulis fell out last season and the former Everton striker has been linked with a whole host of clubs this summer as City aim to re-jig their strike-force ahead of the new season.
Beattie recently insisted his row with Pulis is now all forgotten and he says he wants to stay at Britannia Stadium but still rumours persist of a move elsewhere.
Albion are leading the race to sign him if he is allowed to leave although a number of other sides, including Birmingham and Wolves, could also launch rival bids for the experienced striker.
