Faye out for Potters

Stoke defender Abdoulaye Faye misses the home clash with Portsmouth on Sunday through suspension.

The centre-half sits out one game and could be joined on the sidelines by Republic of Ireland pair Glenn Whelan and Liam Lawrence.

Boss Tony Pulis says he will assess Whelan and Lawrence's mental state after the Thierry Henry handball decision, with Whelan carrying a slight groin problem as well.

In any case, Whelan will need a late fitness test before Pulis makes his decision.
