Stoke winger Jermain Pennant is facing an uncertain future after being charged with drink driving while disqualified.
The 29-year-old was questioned by police after an incident in Sale, Manchester, early on Sunday morning when his BMW car collided with an Audi and the player will appear in court next month. The former Liverpool and Birmingham star has been charged with driving without insurance, driving while disqualified and driving under the influence of alcohol. A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "At about 5.20am on Sunday April 29, police were called to Cross Street to reports a white BMW collided with a silver Audi. "The driver of the Audi went to hospital for treatment. He was treated for a minor injury to the back. He has been discharged." Pennant is never far away from making the headlines for the wrong reasons and this latest incident will leave huge question marks over his future at the Britannia Stadium.
