Stoke have turned their attentions to Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton after Blackburn said Martin Olsson is not for sale.
Tony Pulis is keen to add a new full-back to his ranks and Blackburn's Swedish star was believed to be high on his wanted list after Rovers were relegated to the Championship.
However, Blackburn boss Steve Kean says all offers have been knocked back and the player, who is battling back from a groin injury, is going nowhere.
"The way it worked with Martin was when he was away, there was a lot of interest in him," said Kean. "I have sat down with Martin and said to him we want him to play.
"He is getting over a groin operation and is probably not going to be fit for the start of the season, but I have said we want to keep him and look at extending his contract. I think there were clubs who enquired and we said 'not for sale'".
Pulis will now turn to Hutton who has been told he is surplus to requirements at Villa Park and a fee in the region of £2million could be enough to secure a deal.
