Pulis moves for City star

Stoke boss Tony Pulis has held talks with Manchester City regarding an £8million move for Roque Santa Cruz but faces competition.
The Potters have been in discussions with the Eastlands side over a possible deal for the Paraguayan striker as Pulis bids to improve his attacking options.
The Stoke boss is desperate to bring in at least one more striker, with James Beattie and Dave Kitson expected to depart before the transfer window closes, and Santa Cruz is amongst his targets.
However, new Fulham boss Mark Hughes, who signed Santa Cruz for both City and Blackburn, has also been linked with a move for the striker and Pulis will have to act quickly if he is to secure a deal.
Pulis has also been linked with a £10million move for West Ham forward Carlton Cole, although it is unclear whether or not the Hammers would consider selling the striker.
