Stoke striker James Beattie is being linked with a return to Blackburn as Sam Allardyce targets two new strikers.
Allardyce is facing a striker shortage following the departures of Matt Derbyshire and Roque Santa Cruz and reports claim that he could turn to former star Beattie.
The link follows hot on the heals of reports which suggested that Allardyce was also keen on bringing Kevin Davies back to Ewood Park, but just like Bolton, Stoke will be unwilling to cash in on their star striker.
Allardyce faces a battle to draft in the strikers he needs after the agent of Peter Crouch also insisted that his client has no intention of leaving Fratton Park this summer.
