Whitehead blow for Gunners away

Stoke City, 13:54, November 30, 2009

Stoke midfielder Dean Whitehead will miss the Premier League trip to Arsenal on Saturday after picking up five bookings.

The former Sunderland captain was shown a yellow card in the 0-0 draw at Blackburn which has triggered a one-game ban but Whitehead appears to be more concerned with the chances he missed at Ewood Park.

Whitehead told the BBC: "It's disappointing, but being right in the thick of things, you're going to pick up bookings."

On his two opportunities to break the deadlock, he added: "He (Paul Robinson) showed me the corner to make me play it there, which I did and he saved it.

"I'm more disappointed with the one in the second half, when Ricardo Fuller cut it back and I've took it off Matthew Etherington's foot.

"We'll keep getting in the box, keep creating chances, and we'll put them away."
