Ricky Sbragia says Anton Ferdinand, Andy Reid and Danny Collins are all back in training and could face Bolton in the FA Cup.
Ferdinand and Reid missed the 3-0 defeat at Everton on Sunday as both players had been struck sown with illness while defender Danny Collins picked up a knock in the clash at Goodison Park and missed training yesterday.
However the trio have made good progress in the past 24 hours and are in line to feature in some description as the Black Cats kick off their FA Cup campaign against the Trotters on Saturday.
"Anton and Andy have come in today, it's the first time we have seen them since Sunday and they seem fine," Sbragia told the club's website.
"They trained a little bit and hopefully they will be able to do more tomorrow. We'll wait until Friday when we'll have more idea about how they are physically.
"They were a miss at Everton because I had planned to play them."
He added: "I think Danny will be OK too. The nose is not broken, he trained yesterday and there didn't seem to be a problem, there was no concern from the medical department."
