Blues wait on midfielder deal

Alex McLeish has revealed Birmingham are not obliged to buy Sunderland's Teemu Tainio at the end of his temporary stay.
The Finland international has moved to St Andrews on loan until the end of the season in a move that brings to an end McLeish's long-running pursuit of the 29-year-old.
McLeish attempted to recruit Tainio from Tottenham in the January 2008 transfer window but again was left disappointed and revealed he will wait until the end of his loan before deciding on his plans to buy the versatile midfielder.
"It's just a loan for the full season and then it will be something to be addressed then," the Scot revealed to the Birmingham Mail. "There's no commitment by either club."
