boss accused of 'insensitivity and disrespect'

Sunderland, 11:14, September 11, 2008 ,

Sunderland boss Roy Keane has angered Fifa vice-president Jack Warner by pulling Dwight Yorke from a World Cup qualifier.

Fifa vice-president Warner is a special advisor to the Trinidad and Tobago Football association and has reacted angrily after Keane summoned Yorke back to England preventing him from facing the USA in a World Cup qualifier on Wednesday.
The former Manchester United star is quoted as saying he felt 'fine' ahead of his country's match against the USA and Warner is disappointed the 36-year-old was unable to play.
Warner was clearly incensed by Keane's decision to withdraw Yorke and sent a scathing letter to the Black Cat's boss.
"Your callous disregard for the rights of 'small' countries to have their players represent them as enshrined in Fifa regulations reveals a mean streak in your character," the letter to Keane read.
"It is one which will not endear you or Sunderland to such countries and it is a dangerous path to tread.
"Such insensitivity and disrespect were again most recently displayed by you having summoned Dwight Yorke to England, rendering him unavailable to face the USA."
Warner added: "Your continuing insensitivity and disrespect for countries such as Trinidad and Tobago are hereby noted."
