Brown on comeback trail
Sunderland's forgotten man Wes Brown is making progress as he attempts to battle his way back to fitness.
The 33-year-old suffered a major setback in his recovery from the knee injury he sustained in South Korea during pre-season in October, prompting a return to his specialist.
However, he is now slowly but surely working his way back, although whether that means he will be able to play again this season remains to be seen.
O'Neill said: "He's making progress again. He had a real setback, but he is feeling much, much better now, and while he does work with the physios away from the main group, he feels as if he is making good progress."
Former Manchester United and England defender Brown has been plagued by injury throughout his career and arrived at the Stadium of Light in a £1million switch from Old Trafford in July 2011 having managed just 34 Barclays Premier League appearances in his previous three seasons.
