Sunderland boss Steve Bruce fears he could be without star duo Kenwyne Jones and Lee Cattermole for months rather than weeks.
The duo picked up injuries during Saturday's 1-0 win over Liverpool at the Stadium of Light and Bruce is now anxiously waiting to discover the full extent of the damage. Jones has twisted his ankle while Cattermole has twisted his knee and Bruce is praying for a positive diagnosis. "The worst-case scenario is that we will lose them for months, rather than weeks," he said. "Kenwyne has a twisted ankle and Catts a twisted knee - we think he has damaged to his medial ligament and we are just hoping it is not his cruciate. "The injuries to those two have been the only downside to what was otherwise a great day for the club."
